Louisiana Culinary Institute Fall Baking Competition

Ingredient: Pumpkin!

 

The Louisiana Culinary Institute held an in-house Fall Baking Competition on Halloween Day, and pumpkin was the main ingredient. The participants were Dustie Latiolais and his Pumpkin Pound Cake with Pumpkin Ice Cream, Samantha Neal and her Bewitched Pumpkin Stars with Southern Praline Icing, Brant Palazzo and his Spiced Pumpkin Nut Bread with Praline Sauce, Chase Sherman and his Pumpkin Cake with Cream Cheese Icing and Jessica Vo and her Souffled Pumpkin Pancake.

 

Dustie Latiolais’s Pumpkin Pound Cake and Ice Cream was the winner. Sam Neal was a very close second with Chase Sherman coming third. Dustie won a $100 gift certificate to Sur La Table. Each participant also received a Mercer bread knife. LCI would like to thank all of the participants for submitting such tasty creations!
